Celebrity of Moravian-Silesian region? Dick R. Bliek - General Manager of Imperial Hotel

Ostrava, June 12, 2007: Public inquiry of nationwide newspaper MF Dnes (regional section) was looking for the greatest living celebrity of Moravian-Silesian region. Thanks to votes of readers the charismatic manager of the hotel Imperial Dick R. Bliek beat more than 50 famous people.

Several hundreds of readers sent their votes through the e-mails or mail. During two weeks were published profiles of chosen celebrities with the list of fifty nominative.

The most votes came for Dick R. Bliek who leads the best Ostrava’s hotel Imperial for almost five years and now runs also hotel Vienna in Bielsko-Biala, Poland. He came to Ostrava in 2002 to increase the profit of the renowned hotel in the city center and despite of his own expectation he became rooted in this region. Today he manages the most luxury hotel in Ostrava and as we can see from the results of the inquiry he enjoys good reputation among his guests as well as his staff.

The second position gained Jana Schlossarkova, local poet and writer and the third place obtained another foreigner - Canadian Brett Gray, director of international school in Ostrava where children of foreign managers are taught in English. Among the nominative were such celebrities as Josef Goj - general manager of mining company OKD, Martin Roman - general manager of electrical company ČEZ, Evžen Tošenovský - president of Moravian-Silesian region, football player Milan Baroš or tennis player Ivan Lendl.
