MaMaison Imperial Hotel Ostrava hosts presidential summit
MaMaison Imperial Hotel, Ostrava, recently played host to a presidential summit, which brought together the Prime Ministers of the Visegrad IV countries, as well as special guest, the premier of Slovenia, Janez Jansa. The Slovenian Prime Minister was invited to participate in the series of talks partly because of Slovenia’s presidency of the European Union in the first six months of 2008.
The esteemed guests and their entourage booked over 80 rooms in the hotel, and used the on-site conference facilities to discuss numerous issues relevant to the alliance, including: an evaluation of the situation in Kosovo, the expansion of the Schengen zone and its implications, and future cooperation on the implementation of safe and renewable energy. A presidential lunch was also arranged for the delegates at Imperial’s Legends restaurant.
Klara Dankova, Marketing Manager of MaMaison Imperial Hotel, stated:
“80 rooms were booked for the summit and, naturally, the Presidents received the best ones. No outrageous requests were made and they didn’t ask for any special treatment. In fact, they were all very polite and appreciative of the extra effort the Imperial staff made to ensure comfort during their stay. I am delighted that Imperial has, again, been singled out as a preferred location for this type of summit. I believe it is down to our superior service, prime location in the centre of Ostrava, and commitment to the smallest of details, that puts us first on the list time after time.”
This is the second time in less than a year that MaMaison Imperial Hotel has been selected as location of choice for presidential hospitality. In June 2007, former Czech President Vaclav Havel attended a reception at the Imperial during his visit to the Opava region. Further VIPs to have passed through MaMaison Imperial Hotel’s doors include: Chung Mong–Koo, Director of Hyundai, actor Vin Diesel, participants in the Davis Cup, rock legends Iron Maiden, Olympic gold pole-vaulter Sergej Bubka, and the Czech National Cooking Team.
