Imperial Hotel Ostrava plans further refurbishment

Prague, 17th January 2007: For the past six years, MaMaison Hotels & Apartments (a brand of leading investor and developer ORCO Property Group), has successfully operated one of Ostrava’s most famous hotels and landmarks, the Imperial Hotel. Since purchasing this renowned 4-star hotel in 2001, the company has invested more than EUR 2 million into its extension and an increasing the quality of services offered. The next steps of this ongoing refurbishment are planned for the first quarter of 2007, increasing hotel capacity from its current 155 rooms to 163 rooms. In Q3 2007, an entire floor of standard rooms will be reconstructed and refurbished into luxury comfort rooms. All refurbishments are earmarked for completion in spring 2008.

The Imperial Hotel Ostrava is arguably one of city’s most prominent landmarks, and is conveniently situated in the heart of the city centre – only a few steps away from the main square and in walking distance to the main business and shopping districts. The hotel’s occupancy reaches 61% on average. Czechs amount to 25% of guest nationalities; the rest are visitors from around the world, primarily from all European countries, Korea, the Middle East and USA.

The four-star Imperial Hotel currently offers 155 fully equipped rooms, 58 single rooms, 68 double rooms, 13 apartments, 11 rooms with higher standard and 4 luxury long-stay apartments. Imperial provides its guests with closed underground and outdoor parking places. The hotel has four restaurants, a salt water swimming pool and a congress centre. As a standard service, dailies in 50 world languages are available at the hotel, primarily to provide guests with a small ‘taste of home’.

Mr. Dick R. Bliek has been General Manager of Imperial Hotel since October 2002, and was appointed as Regional Director for MaMaison Hotels & Apartments with effect from the 1st October 2006. In this position, Dick R. Bliek is also involved in new developments and acquisitions in the region of Moravia in the Czech Republic and Silesia in the South Poland, where the company owns two properties: Imperial Hotel in Ostrava and Parkhotel Vienna in Bielsko-Biala. Parkhotel Vienna Hotel is one of most modern-design hotels in the south of Poland, located in the picturesque locale of Beskid Slaski and Beskid Zywiecki mountains, in Bielsko-Biala. The hotel offers 113 fully equipped rooms (TV, SAT, internet access). Parkhotel Vienna provides excellent conference room facilities for 300 persons as well as providing luxurious dinning and recreational facilities. The hotel’s lobby, bar and two restaurants were refurbished at the end of 2006 in order to reach international levels of atmosphere and quality, also characteristic of the MaMaison Hotels & Apartments portfolio.
